juliana theory announcement no. 1

I’ve been promising you guys a series of Juliana Theory announcements.  This is the first of multiple that will be coming.

Juliana Theory Rarities & B-Sides Album -  The band has a pretty nice sized collection of unreleased songs that have never seen the light of day.  We’ve been hoping to release some of these long lost songs in a career spanning collection that includes our tracks from the band’s two, out of print, split CD’s from the early days. TJT’s very first release was a split disc with Josh  Kosker’s old band Dawson High that had 5 Juliana songs.  Shortly after “Understand This is a Dream” was released, we put out a very small pressing of a 3 way split cd with Onelinedrawing & The Grey A.M. which featured the original version of “If I Told You This Was Killing Me Would You Stop?” and a much more obscure track.  All 7 of these songs as well as the 6 bonus tracks from “Love,” and “Deadbeat Sweetheartbeat” that were only available on the accompanying DVD’s will be included on this disc along with the never before released songs.  I’ve recently begun searching through the archives and started mixing some of these songs like “The Glass Menagerie,” and “Temptations With a Sharp Dagger.”  Once we know the release date, track listing, and official details, you’ll be the first to know.  We’re hoping to make this record really special for our die-hard fans with unreleased photos from our personal collections, original hand written lyrics, and any other rare goodies we can dig up.  I’d like to make it like a bit of a time capsule…

So, as I’m digging through the archives, I might find a track or two that won’t make the cut for the album for one reason or another.  Things like that, I’ll be posting on my twitter so make sure you follow me.  I just might blog about the archiving and mixing process too, if I get enough positive feedback from you guys.  Don’t wanna’ bore you with mundane details though, so let me know if it’s worth it!

More TJT news to come.
